Selena Gomez Admits She’s Broken Her Hand Following the Release of Her New Song “Single Soon”

Singer/actor/philanthropist/businesswoman Selena Gomez admitted this week that she broke her hand and needed surgery on it following the release of her new song, “Single Soon.”

The star posted a mirror selfie in front of her makeup vanity (stocked full of Rare Beauty products, a dream! 😍) to her Instagram Story, showing off her right hand wrapped up in a brace.

Her injury comes just a few days after she dropped her new single, and while fans were super excited about the song and its expected success, Selena is a bit more concerned about her health right now.

On Sunday, August 27 a Selena Gomez fan page made a post to Insta saying “#SingleSoon by Selena Gomez is predicted to enter the top 20 of Billboard Hot 100 Charts, but needs stability.—it is also eyeing the top 10 🚨.”

Selena replied in the comment section, writing, “Broke my hand and had surgery. I don’t care about selling anything. I’m just happy to make music with my friends.” Absolute queen behavior! 👑 Sel didn’t give any details about how or when she broke her hand, but it does look on the mend.

“Single Soon” came out on August 25 (the same day her fellow Disney Channel alum Miley Cyrus released her single “Used to Be Young”), and Selena promoted the song with a TikTok using the iconic audio from Sex and the City when Ken calls Samantha and says “it’s over, I told my wife,” and she replies, “Who is this?”
