Kate Middleton’s Mom Carole Went to the Coronation to Support Her, and the Pictures Are Adorable

Prince George’s grandparents Carole and Michael Middleton are attending the coronation of King Charles this morning. The Middletons, joined by their daughter Pippa and son James, were recently spotted entering Westminster Abbey.

For the occasion, Carole chose to wear a bold blue dress, which she paired with a matching hatband, and what appears to be sapphire and diamond jewelry.

An affinity for the color cobalt clearly runs in the family; yesterday Kate wore almost the exact same color at a pre-coronation reception at Buckingham Palace for foreign guests.

Carole and Michael will be proud grandparents today as their eldest grandchild, Prince George, takes on a starring role in the coronation as one of King Charles’s pages of honor. Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte are also in attendance at the church service.

Carole has taken an active role in the lives of her grandchildren. “I want to run down the hills, climb the trees and go through the tunnel at the playground,” she told Good Housekeeping in 2021. “As long as I am able to, that’s what I’ll be doing. I cook with them, I muck around dancing, we go on bike rides.”

With the Wales’s move to Windsor this past summer, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are even closer to their Middleton grandparents—Carole and Michael reside in Bucklebury, West Berkshire.

They have been present for numerous important occasions for the royal family in recent yeras, including the funeral of Queen Elizabeth, and the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018.
