‘The View’ Fans Are Rushing to Whoopi Goldberg’s Side After Her Personal Request on Instagram

Whoopi Goldberg is airing her grievances about a recent development — and fans are backing her up.

In a new video uploaded on The View host’s Instagram, she publicly spoke out about the newest installment of her favorite video game franchise, Diablo. The two-minute clip featured Whoopi in what appeared to be her shoe closet, passionately speaking to the camera about a realization she recently made. While attempting to play the new game Diablo IV on her computer, she learned that it wasn’t compatible with her gaming system.

“Hey y’all. I know there’s a lot of terrible things happening in the world, but what I’m about to tell you is not on any scale like that,” she said in the snippet. “This is me kvetching about my favorite game, Diablo, which has been taken off of Apple.”

Whoopi continued: “I use Apple computers — that’s what I’ve always used to play Diablo. It’s my favorite gaming system … and suddenly, now, Diablo 4 is not available to me on my Apple computer! I already bought Diablo 4.”

“You know how much I love Diablo,” she concluded. “I would like y’all to let those of us who use our Apples to play. Allow us to play on the Apple! Take Diablo IV and let us do it and have a great time! I paid for it, I was all excited for it … I’m telling you, this really pissed me off, and I love my games! Let me play the 4, because you made me so excited for it. That’s all I’m asking.”

When folks saw Whoopi’s frustration, they immediately rallied around her to support her cause.

“Let Whoopi play her game! 👏🏾,” one person wrote in the Instagram comments section. “As a gamer this would make me frustrated!” another agreed. “Give Whoopi what she wants! 👍❤️,” a different fan added.

While the Sister Act star hasn’t updated folks since her original video, this isn’t the only time she’s discussed her love of fantasy. In April 2022, The View confirmed Whoopi took a leave of absence to film the Amazon Prime Video series adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s fantasy novel Anansi Boys. Most recently, she announced that she’s releasing a graphic novel called The Change, inspired by her love of video games.
