If you’re not deep in the internet trenches, a quick primer: Connor Wood—better known to your Gen Z direct report as @fibula—is one of those online celebrities who seems to have materialized fully formed from one’s and zero’s beep-booped out by the algorithm.
Even if you’re not a fan, you’ve likely seen his clips floating around your feed. Ever watched a video on TikTok with audio that asserts “I have purse!” in an accent you can’t quite place?
That’s Connor.
The Austin, Texas native has parlayed his online following into a podcast, a comedy tour, and brand deals with the likes of Dorito’s, T-Mobile, and Team USA, who brought him along to the Winter Olympics in Milan this January.
As for why he’s on our radar at SG HQ? Easy, his style.
Wood is making his first appearance in Men’s Style Madness thanks to a closet stocked with casual staples befitting an influencer who makes a living making funny videos on the internet.
It looks like—and we mean this as a compliment—he shops exclusively at the mall.
Meaning? Everything he wears is something any guy could also wear, making him a great follow for the outfit inspo alone.
There’s no trend-chasing, nothing that screams “I’m wearing this for attention.” His is the kind of wardrobe women love to see a guy wearing. Why? Because it feels attainable without being boring, distinctive without trying too hard.
He’s a Gen Z everyman—if the everyman had a solid eye for proportions and the confidence that comes with a million followers. Which is exactly why we wanted to ask him what’s in his closet, and whether he gets dressed each day expecting to get recognized.
We tracked Wood down for an SG Q&A:
Your personal style feels equal parts “guy who just ‘threw this on’” and “guy who
knows exactly what he likes. How would you describe your style, and what’s your
advice for guys who want to look good without looking like they’re trying too hard to
look good?
First of all I do try really hard. Second of all, thanks for saying that it looks like I don’t.
My style is definitely not effortless, it’s effort-full. Advice I have would just be [opt for] staple
pieces and no branding.
How has your style changed as your audience has grown? Are you cognizant of
getting recognized when you’re out in the world, and does that play into how you get
dressed?
100%, and I hate it.
But people get dressed up to go to work and it’s part of the job, so I do have to kinda dress for the job that I’d like to keep.
Where are you shopping right now?
Abercrombie & Fitch, Uniqlo, Corridor and TOD’S — all great staple brands.

Your internet/IRL friend HenryHenryHenry is also in Men’s Style Madness this year; who do you think has the better shot at becoming this year’s Cinderella story?
HenryHenryHenry. His bags are the cherry on top.
