Katy Perry showed up at King Charles’ coronation along with a buncha royals and dignitaries, and a clip of her having zero idea where to sit is going viral on Twitter. Katy could be seen wandering around looking at the pews in Westminster Abbey before eventually heading down to a specific row and asking the people in it if she was sitting with them. A relatable Queen (not to be confused with an actual queen, who was also at this event).
Reminder that Katy is performing at King Charles’ coronation concert tomorrow (alongside Lionel Richie!), May 7, after a bunch of other A-listers turned down the gig. As for why Katy was chosen for the performance, she’s actually an ambassador of The British Asian Trust, which was founded by Charles.
“I am excited to be performing at the Coronation Concert, and helping to shine a further light on the British Asian Trust’s Children’s Protection Fund, whose work includes on-ground initiatives to fundraising, with the aim to find solutions to child trafficking,” she said in a statement ahead of the event.
Anyway, the coronation is currently going off without a hitch, so gonna go ahead and assume Katy found her seat!
