All the ‘White Lotus’ Season 2 Easter Eggs You Might Have Missed

[ad_1]

The White Lotus is a show that is perfect for Easter egg hunting, Reddit-hole diving, and theory conspiring. And just one episode into season 2, there’s already so much to discuss. What’s with the opening credits? Are all the Testa di Moro vases a huge clue? Was that… Laura Dern on the phone?! Here are all the Easter eggs and clues we’ve gotten so far, and what they could mean.

The Survivor cameos:

As a non-Survivor watcher myself, I didn’t pick up on this one until I saw people pointing it out on the internet after the fact. The two women Daphne is talking to in the opening scene before she discovers the dead body are two former Survivor contestants, Kara Kay and Angelina Keeley. Show creator Mike White was on a season of Survivor, and these two women were fellow contestants. Fun! And also, doesn’t having two people from a show literally called Survivor set the tone for the “Who’s going to make it out alive?” theme here?

The opening credits are… horny:

Not so much an Easter egg as an indication of what’s to come, the opening credits to this season are so, so horny. I mean…

HBO

This show seems really focused on sexual politics this season, and I’m not a huge Greek mythology buff, but is that a depiction of Leda and the Swan at 1:14?

Testa di Moro:

The show hits viewers with this story basically at the top. Essentially, a man comes to Sicily and falls in love with a young girl. Unbeknownst to the young girl, the man had a wife and children back in his own country. She was so mad that she cut his head off, and the vases around the hotel symbolize the head of the man. So it looks like we will probably see at least one cheating situation on this season.

The Jennifer Coolidge of it all:

Tanya and her now-husband are the one holdovers from season 1. And it’s funny that the Tanya character opens by saying that she always has a fabulous time when she stays at a White Lotus. Girl, someone died last time!

Laura Dern!!!!

Another fact I didn’t learn until after the episode, but apparently the woman on the phone playing Dominic’s wife was none other than Lauren Dern. Michael Imperioli, the actor behind Dominic, posted this on his Instagram this week:

It seems like there’s no reason for to appear in-person at the resort, but fingers crossed we get a cameo.
