More details on Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn’s recent breakup are incoming if you’re someone who simply needs more answers. Specifically regarding who broke up with whomst.
According to Entertainment Tonight (who were the first to report on the split), the decision was mostly Taylor’s.
“Taylor and Joe are in totally different places in their lives right now,” ET’s source said. “It was more of Taylor’s decision to break up, but both of them realized that they weren’t completely right for one another. They had been together for such a long time and were spending so much time together, but their personalities were just too different. Joe is more introverted, shy and quiet.”
The source also reiterated what other insiders have said about the split, saying “Taylor has nothing but respect for Joe and really loved and enjoyed all the time and memories she shared with him. They had a deep connection and she really appreciated that. She hopes they can be friendly in the future.”
Taylor still hasn’t confirmed the breakup, but was spotted getting visibly emotional during a performance of “Champagne Problems” (which she co-wrote with Joe) from back in March—right around the time of her breakup.
She also recently cut “Invisible String” (a song said to be about Joe) from her set list and replaced it with “The 1” which is a super emotional breakup song. So yeah, will just be here reading into everything for the foreseeable future.
