Beyoncé and Blue Ivy Just Sang “Brown Skin Girl” Together in Dubai

Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter just joined her mother on a public stage for the first time.

The superstar gave her first live performance since the release of Renaissance tonight, as part of the Grand Reveal Weekend of the ultra-luxury hotel Atlantis The Royal in Dubai. Though the show was a private performance per TMZ, recorded clips of the set have been posted on Twitter, including a special mother-daughter duet of “Brown Skin Girl,” featuring the 11-year-old.

One ten-second clip shows the duo standing on an opulent stage as the “Break My Soul” singer introduces the song, telling the audience, “If you love a brown-skinned woman, I want you to help us sing this.” For the performance, Beyoncé wears an ornate yellow gown with an attached feather backdrop, while Blue dressed in a glittering, long-sleeved gown in a bright shade of red, holding hands with her mother.

Though this marks Blue’s first appearance on a public stage, the future superstar has performed with her mother in pre-recorded situations. In 2021, she became the second-youngest Grammy winner ever at age 9 when “Brown Skin Girl” won Best Music Video. She received a writing credit on the empowering anthem and appeared in the video alongside her grandmother Tina Knowles-Lawson and her little sister Rumi Carter.

The preteen was also part of Bey’s show-stopping performance of her King Richard soundtrack song “Be Alive” at the 94th Academy Awards. Fans spotted Blue amid the crowd of neon-yellow-clad backup dancers in the production, which took place at a tennis court in Compton, California, paying homage to Serena and Venus Williams’ roots.
