Despite the fact that her name was briefly trending and there are photos alleging that she was decked out in Chanel, Lady Gaga was *not* in attendance at the 2023 Met Gala. Sorry, but it’s true!
So, why wasn’t she there? Gaga hasn’t offered an explanation, but she literally just wrapped filming on Joker 2, so maybe she just…needed a break?
Gaga was last at the Met Gala for 2019’s “Camp: Notes on Fashion,” a theme that was pretty much made for her. To the point where she was co-chair (best decision Anna Wintour has ever made). Reminder, Gaga pulled out all the stops and had four transforming looks on the carpet:

“I know intrinsically that I have a camp soul,” she said of her collab with Brandon Maxwell. “I knew because we’re such a family and the way that we work together as a creative collective, that what we would create together would be camp […] What I really love about what we’re doing is that it, it reads like an essay or a poem and it tells a story.
