Prince Harry is currently in Japan and doing significantly cooler and more charitable things than most people do in their lifetimes (then again, most of us aren’t royals). Like, just yesterday, the Duke of Sussex arrived in the country in order to make an appearance at the International Sports Promotion Society‘s Sports Values Summit “Special Edition,” which took place earlier today.
It’s an exciting trip for Harry, who is also set to take part in a fundraising polo match in Singapore on Saturday for his charity, Sentebale. So yeah, consider the royal booked and busy for these next couple of days. However, inquiring minds (me) wanna know: Where is Meghan Markle?!
Well don’t worry, dear reader! The Duchess of Sussex has reportedly remained back at the couple’s home in Montecito, California with their kids, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, according to Hello! The outlet said it’s likely Meghan didn’t go on the trip with Harry due possibly because “long-haul flights with two young children” can be tough, which fair!
They also said, “Archie is currently attending preschool,” so the couple is “possibly conscious of not interrupting their children’s routine.” Another! Fair! Point!!!! Even though she’s not in Japan right now, the Duchess of Sussex def made use of her time at home by living out my dream attending Taylor Swift‘s Eras Tour at SoFi Stadium alongside her British bestie Lucy Fraser last night. Mood:
But regardless of Meghan’s absence, it def seemed as though she was on Harry’s mind even while he was miles and miles away. 🥺❤️ Case in point? During his initial arrival in Japan, the Duke of Sussex was spotted walking through Tokyo’s Haneda Airport among crowds of passengers sporting a low-key black shirt and a dark cap bearing the logo of the Archewell Foundation he co-runs with Meghan.
In pics published by the Daily Mail, the royal arrived at the international airport alongside his long-time friend, Argentinian polo player Nacho Figueras, who will presumably be attending the festivities with Harry. Per the outlet, a reporter approached Harry at the time and asked how it felt to be in Japan for the first time in four years, to which he replied, “Good to see you again.”
Prince Harry def has a warm history with the country—so much so that Omid Scobie, co-author of the biography Finding Freedom about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, tweeted a video of the prince’s arrival that said, in part, “Lots of fans waiting for Harry in arrivals. The royal family [has] always had a big following in Japan (especially Princess Diana) and interest in the Sussexes continues to be strong.”
Japan 🤝🏻 The Sussexes.
