Last year, Jenna Ortega showed up at the Met Gala wearing Valentino Pink, but this year? The vibes are distinctly more spooky—not to mention extremely on theme (the theme being Karl Lagerfeld).
As you can see, Jenna showed up giving Wednesday with a just a hint of Blair Waldorf. Gonna go ahead and compare this to last year’s look—also great but couldn’t be more different!
Back in March, Jenna told InStyle that playing Wednesday had influenced her personal style, saying, “I do think that Wednesday changed my taste a lot. I have a hard time getting her off of me, at least clothing-wise.”
“It’s also something that I’ve always wanted to do,” she added. “I just never felt like I could. I feel like there were always a lot of voices and opinions that I used to place too much value in.”
Jenna also told Vogue that seeing #Wednesdaycore content on social media helped her lean into the aesthetic, saying, “I’ve always respected goth culture. I’ve always had a darker sense of humor, but I never felt like I was able to express that. Now I feel like I can embrace those qualities in myself.”
