Katie Holmes’s latest off-duty look is all about the accessories.
The Dawson’s Creek alum stepped out in NYC yesterday, where she elevated a classic summer uniform with one of the season’s essential bags. The star’s casual-chic ensemble was composed of a light-blue t-shirt with decorative stitching, which she tucked into blue straight-leg jeans cinched at the waist with a simple brown belt. She enhanced the outfit with a pair of wedge espadrilles with black leather straps as well as a crossbody raffia bucket bag.
Her dark brown hair was pulled back into a ponytail, and she topped off the look with a pair of tortoise-shell sunglasses.
In addition to her signature relaxed style composed of quiet luxury staples, the actress has also turned to athleisure wear to beat the summer heat. Last month, she wore a casual, ab-baring workout outfit composed of a stringy black sports bra, comfy green sweatpants by Alo, and gray sneakers. Her accessories included a black leather shoulder bag by Carolina Herrera, clear oval sunglasses, layers of dainty gold necklaces, and small elongated silver hoop earrings by Saskia Diez.
Holmes spoke to Bazaar.com last year about prioritizing comfort in her day-to-day style, adding that she feels most at home in an old tee. “I love my T-shirts, and I love my vintage T-shirts. They’re so yummy. They’re a little dirty, a little stained or whatever, and that’s me.”
