Kay, So! Here’s Why Ariana Grande Is Leaving Her Longtime Manager Scooter Braun, Per a Source

Celebrities are dropping from Scooter Braun’s management faster than you can say “Karma is the breeze in my hair on the weekend,” and it looks like Ariana Grande is officially moving on from the celebrity manager.

Reports have been slightly conflicting, but according to People, Ariana made the call to leave Scooter and his company—with a source saying “They are friendly but she’s outgrown him and is excited to go in a different direction. Yes there are negotiations happening because of contracts. But this is her choice. It’s time for something new.”

However, a source tells both Variety and People that “All of Scooter Braun’s clients are under contract and negotiations have been going on for several months as Scooter steps into his larger role as HYBE America CEO. People are spreading rumors based on what they know, but they are off. Scooter’s team at SB Projects are still handling both Justin and Ariana as they work through what this new structure looks like.”

Oh, and another source told Variety that “He’s imploding. It’s a different world since the pandemic. You just can’t be an asshole like that anymore.” While yet another insider countered with, “He’s getting out of management — he has been for years. That’s the real story.”

Just FYI, this actually isn’t the first time Ariana’s left Scooter’s management. She fired him in 2016 and then re-hired him, which Scooter talked about a few years later, saying, per Variety “I said, ‘We’re not gonna say a word, and this is gonna come back around. They were like, ‘Never take her back!,’ and I just said, ‘Let’s stay quiet and let our truth be our actions.’”
