Meghan Markle has largely been able to stay out of the paparazzi’s lens in California. Last Friday, however, was an exception. The Duchess of Sussex was snapped near her Montecito home wearing a white striped La Ligne sweater over a black top with black skinny jeans and ballet flats. Her hair was styled down and straight in a center part. Meghan carried a Fendi bag with her. (You can see pics of this remarkably rare look at her casual style on the Daily Mail, btw.)
The outfit is similar to the black skinny jeans look she wore during her and Prince Harry’s 2018 Australia visit, but instead of the white striped sweater (seen below), at that time she wore a blazer:
The sighting came the same day the audio division of Meghan and Prince Harry’s Archewell organization and Spotify announced the end of their partnership. “Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together,” the companies said in a brief statement, via Variety. Meghan released one series with Spotify, Archetypes. The couple signed a $20 million deal with the streamer in late 2020.
A source told Variety that Meghan and Harry wanted to find a new home for their projects, rather than have them be Spotify-distributed exclusives. According to the publication, a second source also noted that, on Spotify’s end, the streamer “expected more content from Archewell Audio [and noted] that nearly three years after inking the pact, they [Meghan and Harry] have delivered only one series, essentially putting the overall deal in limbo.”
Neither party has given a further comment beyond their initial statement announcing the end of their deal. Meghan’s outing on Friday also came the day before King Charles III’s first Trooping the Colour as king. Meghan and Harry weren’t invited to the event, which took place last Saturday.
