Meghan Markle has joined Instagram! Like, in a very low-key, unofficial way. In fact, she’s had her account for a while now—it’s just taken a minute for it to be noticed.
Page Six reports that sources have told them Meghan’s Instagram page is “ready to roll out” as she’s been preparing to “make a comeback online.” The handle, which is simply @meghan (chic/classy) already has tens of thousands of followers as of writing this, and a profile photo of some simple flowers. As of now, the account is following 0 people and has 0 posts.
Per Page Six, Meghan secured her new Instagram account before launching her podcast all the way back in August 2022, with a source saying “Meghan was set to go live on Insta, but changed her mind shortly before she launched her ‘Archetypes’ podcast, so it’s just sitting there now.”
Meghan had a personal Instagram account before she married Prince Harry, and also ran a lifestyle blog called The Tig. Both the Insta and the blog were deleted upon her entering into the royal family, where she was briefly part of a @KensingtonRoyal Instagram with Prince Harry, Prince William, and Kate Middleton, before branching off to @sussexroyal. She and Harry stopped posting on the account when they stepped away from senior royal duties.
Meghan previously told The Cut about her plans to rejoin social media, saying “Do you want to know a secret? I’m getting back…on Instagram.”
