Heartstopper has taken the world by storm with its amazingly written and adorably drawn graphic novel. And now it’s taking on a new form in a Netflix series that (trust us) is just as showstopping as the original. Get ready to see Nick and Charlie find out about love all over again as this story comes to life.
But if you’re just like us, you’ve already realized how short the show’s first season is. There has to be more coming, right? Well, we are totally on your side and went digging for answers about if there’s more Heartstopper in our future.

Is Heartstopper coming back for another season?
Get ready, because Netflix has officially announced that Heartstopper will be coming back for seasons 2 AND 3. And we couldn’t celebrate the good news without a new art piece by the one and only Alice Oseman!
What would a second season be about?
The first season of the series covers volumes 1 and 2 of the graphic novel series, so it’s a safe bet that a second would go straight into volume 3. Here’s the official synopsis of the third volume:
“Charlie didn’t think Nick could ever like him back, but now they’re officially boyfriends. Nick has even found the courage to come out to his mom. But coming out isn’t something that happens just once, and Nick and Charlie try to figure out when to tell their friends that they’re dating. Not being out to their classmates gets even harder during a school trip to Paris. As Nick and Charlie’s feelings get more serious, they’ll need each other more than ever.”
Netflix also gave us more of a peek with their own description all about the upcoming season.
“Nick and Charlie navigate their new relationship; Tara and Darcy face unforeseen challenges and Tao and Elle work out if they can ever be more than just friends. With exams on the horizon, a school trip to Paris and a prom to plan, the gang has a lot to juggle as they journey through the next stages of life, love and friendship.
If you can’t wait any longer and want to just dive right in, you can always pick up the series, which also has a fourth volume out now and a fifth and sixth volume coming out soon.
When will we know if Heartstopper starts filming?
Netflix revealed that production has officially begun, and the cast got together to film something super special for us to hold us over until the show comes back on our screens.
Who is coming back for season 2? And who is joining the cast?
Along with the special video reveal, the streaming giant confirmed that four new cast members are officially joining the cast. And if you’ve read the comics, you’ll be excited to see these characters appear.
“Leila Khan as Sahar Zahid (a Higgs student), Jack Barton as David Nelson (Nick’s older brother), Bradley Riches as James McEwan (a Truham student), and Nima Taleghani as Mr. Farouk (a Truham teacher),” Netflix revealed.
Oh, and don’t be scared if you don’t see everyone in that amazing cast photo above. It was confirmed that all the leads will be back for season 2, including Kit Connor as Nick, Joe Locke as Charlie, Yasmin Finney as Elle, William Gao as Tao, Corinna Brown as Tara, Kizzy Edgell as Darcy, Sebastian Croft as Ben, Tobie Donovan as Isaac, Rhea Norwood as Imogen, and Jenny Walser as Tori.
When will season 2 come out?
While we do have a book all about Tori coming out to hold us over, the biggest question on everyone’s minds is when this beautiful show is coming back. Thankfully, Netflix released a special date announcement featuring the cast members filming season two where they also announce that Heartstopper season 2 will come out on August 3.
