Taylor Swift still hasn’t confirmed or denied reports that she and Joe Alwyn broke up (she did step out in a pair of pants that everyone thinks hint at ~rebirth~), but the good news? She’s definitely okay.
Taylor gave a quick thumbs up to a fan who held up a sign reading “You OK?” during her performance of “Delicate” in Tampa. The video was naturally posted on TikTok, and Swifties are relieved to say the least. And also have a lot of opinions about whether signs should be allowed at Tay’s shows, but moving on.
As one person put it, “that’s all i want to know! idc if they’re together, on a break, over, w/e. the tabloids had a freakin fieldday but not one asked if she’s happy/ok.”
And as another person put it, “This is so cute bc be honest we’re all a little worried. Our girl has a lot going on at the moment 😭🫶🏼”
Taylor also subtly alluded to the split during her first performance after the breakup news, er, broke, reportedly saying “Is it just me or do we have a lot of things to catch up on? It’s been a really long time since I’ve been on tour. And to say that a lot has happened is an understatement.”
FYI that according to Entertainment Tonight (who were the first to report on Tay and Joe’s breakup), the decision to part ways was mostly Taylor’s.
“Taylor and Joe are in totally different places in their lives right now,” their source said. “It was more of Taylor’s decision to break up, but both of them realized that they weren’t completely right for one another. They had been together for such a long time and were spending so much time together, but their personalities were just too different. Joe is more introverted, shy, and quiet.”
