The Royals Snubbed Meghan Markle’s Birthday Despite a Public Tweet Last Year

Meghan Markle celebrated her 42nd birthday last week, and it doesn’t look like the royal family sent any well wishes her way…which is extremely off brand. The Sussexes and the royals are obviously estranged—but they have been for years, and that’s never stopped King Charles from doing the polite thing and throwing a “happy birthday” post on social media in honor of his daughter-in-law before.

In fact, last year we were treated to this from King Charles and Queen Camilla:

As well as this from Prince William and Kate Middleton:

This year, however, The Firm didn’t wish Meghan happy birthday (at least not publicly), and author Angela Levin tells The Sun they’re feeling “fed up” with the Sussexes. Noting that “Meghan didn’t recognize Camilla’s birthday publicly,” Levin explained that “William wants absolutely nothing to do with Harry at the minute.”

On top of the birthday snub, Meghan and Harry haven’t been invited to a royal gathering in Balmoral to mark the one-year anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s passing. Sources tell The Sun, that there “hasn’t been any outreach to them” from senior royals about the event at all, despite the fact that Meghan and Harry will be in Europe for the Invictus Games around the same time. That said, a source notes that if they are “not included in any of those plans they will find a way to mark the significance in their own way.”
