Time to hold internet hands and breathe out a sigh of exhaustion because yet another season of The Bachelorette is blessing us with its presence! Tonight! At 8/7c on ABC! It’s all happening! Here’s the TL;DR on season 17: it’s co-hosted by Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe, it stars Bachelor fan fave Katie Thurston, and it’ll apparently be full of surprises. Including the arrival of at least one familiar and bearded face: 30-year-old Blake Moynes!
This is technically a spoiler so consider yourself warned, but apparently Blake joined Katie’s season mid-way through filming, and was seen lurking around set. And both @bachdetective (highly recommend the follow) and Reality Steve have confirmed that he could end up making it pretty far. So yeah, if you’re not already familiar with Blake thanks to his previous stint on Bachelor Nation, it’s CLEARLY time to get to know him.
Blake Competed on Clare & Tayshia’s Season
Poor Blake had to deal with Clare rejecting him after five minutes for Dale Moss (dude was so shocked that he started stress balding), but he got another chance at love with Tayshia…who also ended up rejecting him. Here he is crying, bless:

You might be thinking to yourself, why the hell is Blake competing on Katie’s season when his ex is literally hosting it? But here’s the thing: we don’t know for sure that Blake intended to compete—it’s possible he just came on set to visit Tayshia and get closure, and ended up joining last min. After all, Blake told Us Weekly that while he’d “moved past” his feelings for Tayshia, he felt she hadn’t given him closure at the Men Tell All:
“You just naturally think about the what-ifs and you’re always going to until you get closure. And I know that’s why I asked the questions I kind of did at the Men Tell All and I wanted her to kind of give me the answer of, ‘You’re not The One for me, it wasn’t just time.’ I didn’t really fully get that. But, you know, I’ve moved past it now. I think she’s happy where she’s at and, you know, things play out the way they should and I believe in that.”
Blake Is a Wildlife Manager
Just some quick fun facts about Blake in case you missed him last season. Our dude is a wildlife manager from Canada, and “spends his days happily working outdoors.” Wow, kinda like me except indoors! Also, he loves picnics and volunteers with endangered species in his free time. Despite all this cuteness, Blake is the last single person left in his friend group, which is perhaps why he’s so eager to date three women on national TV in a row.

And it is not me. Blake’s “dream woman” is “outdoorsy” and she has to be okay with his “potty mouth.” Kay!

He’s a ~Rule Breaker~
During Clare’s season, Blake broke their no-contact rule and reached out to check in when she was having trouble being away from her mom in quarantine. Here’s what Clare told Blake at the time:
“Over quarantine, it was really hard for me. And you were the only guy that reached out to me the entire time. I want you to know that that time you broke the rule meant everything to me. The fact that you risked not coming on here and putting that on the line, at a time where I was really struggling, it meant everything to me.”
TBD on what rules Blake will break on Katie’s season, but I’m pretty sure showing up unplanned counts.
Blake Has a Dog, a Cat, and a Rhino

He Has a Lot of Bachelor Nation Crushes
Blake told Ashley I. that he has his “eye” on three women from the franchise, saying “I like that Kendall Long has an interest in animals and loves that kind of thing. We could connect in that way. And she’s cute.” He added that Andi Dorfman’s “got her shit together,” and said Kristina Schulman is “really good-looking.” Noted.
