If you think gift-giving szn is over after December, think again, because we still got Lunar New Year 2023 to prep for! All my red envelope-loving peeps who celebrate know that this holiday is prime time to usher in happiness, great health, and prosperity (y’know, all the good vibes) for the year ahead, and giving thoughtful gifts to your loved ones is a big part of doing so.
Obvi, we had to come through with some festive gift ideas for ya, and you betcha these are all 1. on theme and 2. legit appropriate to give. What do I mean by appropriate, you ask? Welp, IYKYK, and if you don’t: In East Asian culture, there are certain items that are considered “unlucky” and should never be given. For example, don’t gift knives or sharp objects as they are symbolic of cutting off relationships (big yikes). Clocks and watches should also be avoided as they could symbolize parting. And just generally anything black or white are big no-nos because those are #FuneralColors.
