What You Need to Know About Billie Eilish’s Rumored Boyfriend, Matthew Tyler Vorce

In case you missed it, Billie Eilish appears to be in a full-blown relationship. Photos were snapped of the Grammy-winner cozying up to Matthew Tyler Vorce in Santa Barbara back in October 2021, and since then, the pair have been pretty much “inseparable.” At least, that’s what a partygoer told Page Six after seeing Billie and Matthew at Doja Cat’s 26th costume birthday party in Los Angeles in the fall.

The source told the outlet that Billie and Matthew “kept close to each other the whole night and never left each other’s side,” while also mentioning that the pair “were inseparable, sharing kisses.” Here’s a pic from the event so you can get a sense of vibes:

While their last public appearance happened in October, Billie and Matthew were first seen together before that nearly an entire year ago in April 2021—they were photographed walking Billie’s pit bull, Shark, and grabbing coffee. So yeah, they’ve been together for a good while now! Here’s what we know about Matthew (and FYI, Billie herself hasn’t confirmed their relationship status).

He’s an Actor and Podcast Host

According to IMDb, Matthew appeared in the TV movie Mother, May I Sleep With Danger? and was most recently in a short called The Curse of Frank Sinatra. Oh, and he’s also one of the creators of iHeartMedia’s horror podcast Searching for Putty Man.

His Insta Is Fully Public Again

Back when the news of his relationship with Billie first hit, Matthew sent his Insta straight to private mode. But you could still see his bio, which reads, “Actor. Writer. Degenerate. Los Angeles.”

Now, though, Matthew’s Instagram is back up and running.

He Was Maybe (?) in Billie’s Doc

There’s speculation that Matthew made an off-camera appearance in Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry. In the scene in question, Billie gets a call after sweeping the 2020 Grammys and tells the camera it’s her “first love.” TBD on if this was Matthew (and there’s no proof that it is), but if so, they clearly go way back.

His Racist and Homophobic Comments Resurfaced and He Issued a Public Apology

Over the summer, People reported that Matthew wrote homophobic and racist posts on social media, which resurfaced on Twitter. He apologized on Instagram Stories:

“I want to apologize for the things that I wrote on social media in the past. The language I used was hurtful and irresponsible and I understand how offensive those words are,” he said. “Whether it was a lyric, a quote, or just me being dumb, it does not matter. I am ashamed and deeply sorry that I used them in any context. It is not how I was raised and it is not what I stand for. I shouldn’t have used this language in the first place and I won’t use it again. I am so sorry for the hurt I have caused. I take full responsibility and continue to hold myself accountable for my actions.”

He and Billie Keep Their Relationship Private

While Billie hasn’t spoken out about dating Matthew, she did explain why she keeps relationships private during an interview with Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp. “I definitely want to keep [relationships] private. I’ve had relationships and kept them private, and even the ones that I’ve had, with the tiny amount that I’ve let the world see, I regret. I think about the people that have made their relationships public and then they break up and it’s like, ‘What if it goes bad?’”
