New York Fashion Week has officially kicked off, and Jennifer Lopez braved the city’s unseasonably soaring temperatures with a look that embraced this season’s pantsless trend.
The multi-hyphenate sat front row at Coach’s Spring 2024 ready-to-wear runway show yesterday at the New York Public Library. For the occasion, she mixed her high-fashion sensibilities with a rugged western flair.
This included an oversize double-breasted coat in taupe, featuring swinging tendrils of fringe on each sleeve. Jennifer eschewed pants, instead styling the jacket as a minidress. She paired the outerwear with statement shoes: a pair of heeled knee-high boots completely covered in a black-and-tan snakeskin print. Jennifer’s other accessories included a metallic silver Coach bag, white-rimmed sunglasses, bedazzled silver hoop earrings, a diamond necklace, a diamond bracelet, and an array of sparkling rings.
Jennifer’s ties to the luxury fashion house go way back. In 2019, Coach tapped her to be its new global brand ambassador.
“I’m so excited for this collaboration with Coach,” Jennifer said at the time, per WWD. “It is a timeless brand that I’ve always been a fan of, and the upcoming collection really speaks to my personal style—an uptown/downtown mix.”
Coach creative director Stuart Vevers said of Jennifer, “She’s determined, and she’s an original who has followed her own path to do things her own way—she really embodies the attitude of Coach and our new campaign. I loved when Jennifer carried the Coach Signature bags in her 2002 video ‘All I Have.’ She’s from New York, like Coach, which creates another authentic connection with our heritage, and I’m particularly excited about bringing Jennifer and Juergen Teller together.”
