Today is a good day for horror fans! A24 has announced there will be a sequel to its hit film Talk to Me. The supernatural horror movie hit theaters on July 28 and quickly found huge success, debuting with $10.4 million, which makes it the best start for an A24 film since Midsommar in July 2019. And lucky us, we’re getting a sequel!
The new movie—hilariously dubbed “Talk 2 Me“—will see the return of Danny and Michael Philippou, who directed the original. Danny will be writing the script alongside Bill Hinzman, who also wrote the script for the first movie, but so far we don’t have any details about the exact plot. (Which makes sense. It’s early!)
In case you haven’t seen Talk to Me yet and are wondering if it’s worth a trip to the theater for the watch (it is), the film is about a group of friends who realize they are able to connect with spirits using an embalmed hand, but everything goes really wrong when one of them accidentally releases supernatural forces.
Talk to Me is said to be A24’s scariest film yet, so a sequel is teed up to be just as terrifying.
