Britney Spears is speaking out amid reports from multiple outlets that her friends almost staged an intervention. According to Entertainment Tonight, the attempted intervention was going to address alleged “mental health and substance abuse issues,” while a source who says they’re in contact with Britney told TMZ, “I’m afraid she’s gonna die.”
Seemingly in response to TMZ’s report, Britney published a lengthy statement on Instagram about made-up stories and implored her followers not to believe everything they read. “It makes me sick to my stomach that it’s even legal for people to make up stories that I almost died,” she said. “I mean at some point enough is enough !!!”
Britney added that she might quit Instagram amid speculation about her life, saying, “I’m probably going to have to stop posting on Instagram because even though I enjoy doing it, there’s obviously a lot of people who don’t wish me well !!! I’m honestly not surprised at all…Again doing the best I can !!!”
She also pointed out that, “Again, the conservatorship has been over for almost a year… No, folks, it’s not 2007… it’s 2023 and I’m making my first homemade lasagna at home !!! I finally got my fireplace to work in my living room !!! As my hubby says it best: don’t believe everything you read !!! All that love right back at ya !!!”
Her caption was accompanied by a quote saying, “A state of gratitude will shift you to a higher frequency.”
TMZ’s sources alleged that Britney’s husband Sam Asghari was going to be part of the intervention along with her manager, an interventionist, and doctors. Sam hasn’t commented on the reports, and his most recent Instagram Stories (as of this article’s publication) show him going to the Star Trek: Picard premiere and working out.
