The Los Angeles premiere of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie was packed to the brim with literally all of your favorite celebs decked out in their best doll-worthy attire. Case in point: Margo Robbie dressed as a ’60s Barbie doll, Dua Lipa served Mariposa meets Versace, and Alix Earle wore a glam gold dress that she joked “gave Barbie” because she could “barely move in it”.
Dove Cameron was also in attendance, and best believe she showed up in an edgy-glam look with a brand new hairdo to match. The Descendants actress wore a bespoke demi-couture mermaid gown designed by Ellie Misner that featured a soft pink peplum top with a strapless neckline, and a black trumpet skirt.
The singer sported fresh bangs and a cool, dark brown hair color to match her smoky eyeshadow and graphic liner. Several fans compared her to Raquelle, a brunette doll from the 2011 animated movie Barbie: A Fairy Secret.
“DOVE CAMERON=RAQUEL,” declared one fan. “The dress was inspired by “Barbie and the secret of the fairies” in the Barbie dress at the awards in the beginning, right?,” another fan theorized.
Dove Cameron took to Instagram to sing the praises of the Barbie cast after screening the movie at the premiere. “Proving there are no rules for what is possible in film making with ease and levity and camp and emotion and social commentary and celebration and reverence,” she declared. “Words fail !!! greta forever !!! 🩰🧸🎀”.
