Hailey Bieber took a moment earlier today to speak up her mental health. First, the Rhode founder posted a lighthearted vid of an animated cat dancing in a house on her Instagram Stories and wrote, “This is how my mental state feels after the last month and a half.”
Then in a subsequent Story, Hailey opened up more about her reason for posting it: “I like to make jokes about how I feel because sometimes it’s easier than admitting I’m having a hard time. But truthfully since 2023 started I have had some of the saddest, hardest moments I’ve ever had in my adult life and my mind and emotions have been fragile to say the least. And I know so many other people feel the same way I feel, so just know you’re not alone,” she reflected.
The model then encouraged her followers to be kind to each other and support others who may be going through similar struggles. “That being said, let’s keep being there for one another. Let’s be there for loved ones and friends and family and strangers,” she mused in her final Story. “Let’s just be there for people.. let’s keep showing up for each other even when it’s hard. We’re better together.”
It’s possible that Hailey could be alluding to the internet-fueled drama between herself and Selena Gomez, which culminated in Sel issuing a public plea to her fans to leave Hailey alone.
“Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity. This isn’t what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop,” Selena wrote on March 24.
Hailey, in response, issued a statement of her own thanking Selena for speaking up. “I want to thank Selena for speaking out, as her and I have been discussing the last few weeks how to move past this ongoing narrative between her and I,” the model wrote on her Instagram Stories. “The last few weeks have been very hard for everyone involved and millions of people are seeing so much hate around this which is extremely harmful.”
TL;DR: We can all stand to be a little bit kinder to each other. ❤️
