This hair vibe has everything that a summertime protective style needs: It’s low commitment, it’s easy to maintain, and it’s gorg. Watch today’s episode in full to peep hairstylist Sasha Griffin‘s process behind the magic. Oh, and check out the helpful tips below if you want to rock your own jumbo Invisible locs.
1. Stretch your hair at home. Before any protective-style appointment, you’ve gotta give your hair the full wash-day treatment, complete with a blowout to prep for braids or locs. Start by washing your hair with a sulfate-free shampoo to avoid stripping your hair, then load up on all of your moisturizing deep conditioners, curl creams, custards, and butters before blowing out and stretching your hair.
2. Slick down your edges. Don’t you want sleek af baby hairs to accompany these fun locs? Stock up on an edge controlwith a non-flaky formula to avoid any visible residue as we approach the warmer months.
3. Jazz it up. Hair jewelry is not reserved for braids. If you’re feeling ~different~, you can grab a pack of hair rings to give these locs some pizzazz. You know you want to…
4. Wrap it up before bed. Want this style to look salon fresh on the daily? Add two pumps of mousse to your hair at night, wrap it with silk headscarf, and then run a blow dryer over it before bed to lay down your edges and keep your locs tight.
