Much like the rest of us, Adele is completely obsessed with Miley Cyrus’s nostalgia filled ballad “Used to Be Young,” like, to the point where she sat down and had a chat with her Las Vegas audience about how much she loves the song.
“Do you know something else I remembered this morning happened to me? I am obsessed with Miley Cyrus’ new song, has anyone heard it yet?” Adele said. “I’ve always been a big Miley Cyrus fan, and I’ve got such a soft spot for nostalgia and that song—woah, might make me tear up now. I absolutely love it, I think it’s amazing, she’s such a legend, I love her.”
Miley ended up watching a clip of the moment circulating on Twitter, and wrote in response “@Adele, I thought of you often while writing this song – always hoped that you would love it. This means the world to me. I love you. Mission accomplished.”
Miley dropped “Used to Be Young” on Friday, saying “This song is about honoring who we’ve been, loving who we are & celebrating who we will become. I feel proud when reflecting on my past and joyful when thinking about the future. I am grateful to my loyal fans who make my dreams a reality daily. I am sincerely thankful for the stability of your steadfast support. This song is for you.”
She’s since opened up about making the video, saying she started crying after seeing her mom, Tish, watching her on set. More on that below!
