The Royals Simply Don’t “Believe” Prince Harry “Deserves” an Apology

Prince Harry and the royal family appear to be at a bit of an impasse—you know, mostly because Harry wrote an entire memoir exposing them and they refuse to apologize. Despite Prince Harry making it very clear that he wants one.

As he put it in an interview with The Telegraph, “I’m willing to forgive you for everything you’ve done, and I wish you’d actually sat down with me, properly, and instead of saying I’m delusional and paranoid, actually sit down and have a proper conversation about this, because what I’d really like is some accountability. And an apology to my wife.”

But uh, apparently the royals simply don’t think Harry deserves an apology.

“Prince Harry feels very strongly he deserves an unequivocal apology,” royal historian Gareth Russell tells Us Weekly. “I don’t think the royal family…believe he deserves one.”

He added that while Harry “believes he is owed an apology, a profound and unequivocal apology,” the “royal family don’t think it’s quite a 100 to zero percent [balance] of the blame” and “don’t believe he merits an unequivocal apology.”

Prince Harry and his family didn’t get a chance to work out their issues during the coronation, and Harry jumped on a plane directly after the event to make it home in time for his son Archie’s birthday. Tensions also seemed to be high at the coronation itself, when Harry allegedly told Princess Eugenie’s husband Jack Brooksbank that he was over the way he was being treated. More on that below!
