The royal family are gathering in Balmoral to mark the one-year anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s passing, and apparently Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not make the guest list.
According to The Sun, “the Sussexes have not been invited despite being in Europe for the Invictus Games a day after the anniversary.” Sources also tell the outlet that there “hasn’t been any outreach to them” from senior royals about the event at all.
Pretty much every senior member of the royal family is expected to be in attendance at the gathering (including disgraced Prince Andrew and his wife Sarah Ferguson), and a source tells The Sun that if Meghan and Harry are “not included in any of those plans they will find a way to mark the significance in their own way.”
An insider recently told People that Prince Harry remains completely estranged from his family, and isn’t speaking to his brother Prince William at all. “The situation with his father and brother is still very difficult for him,” the source said. “Meghan is always supportive of it though. She used to be negative about it. It seems she has kind of moved on now.”
The insider added that Meghan has taken “much softer approach about Harry’s family,” and is busy focusing on her kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet: “They have moved continents. They have set up a new life with their kids.” Meghan in particular “just wants to focus on their kids and their life in Montecito.”
