Belly Conklin (Lola Tung) and the Fisher boys are picking things back up right where they left off in season 2 of the television adaptation of Jenny Han’s beloved The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy.
In case ya didn’t know, the official trailer for the show’s second installment featured Taylor Swift’s “Back to December (Taylor’s Version)” in addition to her song “August” in a move that previewed just how season 2 jumps back and forth in time between the current summer and the winter prior when Belly briefly dated Conrad (Christopher Briney) long distance. All in all, something tells us that season 2 will absolutely live up to the hype—even without all the episodes out yet 👀. It definitely helps that Gavin Casalegno, who plays Jeremiah on the show, seems to think so, too. The actor outlined what to expect from season 2 in Cosmo‘s exclusive interview with him:
“I got to see a little bit of the series and of season 2, and I personally think it’s better in season 2. I [also] think it’s closer to the books. And because of that, we got to explore more of that route versus season 1 that was a little more about the debutante ball and things like that to spice it up and create things happening. I think it dives deeper into mature relationships and what that looks like. You never really know what’s going on, and that’s what the cool part is.”

Sad news: Season 2 of The Summer I Turned Pretty doesn’t drop all at once, so you’ll need to be a little patient. Good news: We won’t have that regrettable moment post-show binge when we’re kinda-sorta sad we didn’t pace it out. A win is a win, people!
Because all eight episodes of season 2 don’t come out at the same time, here’s a handy-dandy breakdown of its schedule. As of right now, episodes 1 through 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2 are currently out, as they dropped on July 14. The remaining five episodes are set to be released weekly on Fridays at 12:00 a.m. EST until the finale drops on August 18.
