Taco Bell and Cheez-It just dropped one of the most unexpected collaborations 2022 has seen. The brands joined forces to create two new Taco Bell menu items — the Big Cheez-It Tostada and the Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme — which each feature a single enormous Cheez-It. Exactly how enormous, you ask? It’s not three, not four, but 16 times larger than the original bite-size cracker, clocking in at just over 4 inches in length. It’s not for the faint of heart — or the lactose intolerant.
The Cheez-It-fied tostada swaps the usual hard-shell base for one of the supersize crackers and has seasoned beef, lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, and dollops of sour cream piled on top. The modified Crunchwrap Supreme similarly trades its central hard shell for the giant Cheez-It and features the rest of the classic fixings: seasoned beef and nacho cheese sauce on the bottom layer and lettuce, diced tomatoes, and sour cream in the top pocket, all wrapped in a grilled tortilla.
Sadly, both creations are only being tested at one Taco Bell outpost in Irvine, CA (located at 2222 Barranca Parkway), for the next two weeks or as long as supplies last. The tostada rings up at $2.49 and can be ordered via drive-through or in the restaurant, whereas the Crunchwrap costs $4.29 and can only be ordered on the Taco Bell website or mobile app. Here’s to hoping the test is a rousing success and both items hit menus nationwide soon.
