The term “style icon” gets thrown around a lot, especially when it comes to celebrities. But it’s worth remembering that most of our favorite celebs have a whole team of stylists helping them look as good as they do. No shade, of course, I wish I had just one extra person to offer an opinion in the morning when I’m staring blankly at my packed wardrobe and exclaiming I have absolutely nothing to wear.
There’s no denying Blake Lively has fully earned the title, though. Her fashion credentials speak for themself – not only did she play the legendary and eternally chic Serena van der Woodsen, but Blake has famously been her own stylist for years.
Last night, the actress picked out yet another knock-out look for her first red carpet appearance since giving birth to her fourth child. And it’s safe to say fans were not ready.
Wearing an off-the-shoulder Carolina Herrera floral midi dress and Manolo Blahnik pink jeweled-toe heels, Blake took to her Instagram to post pics of the event. Her long blonde hair was pulled up in a high ponytail, showing off her multi-colored stone drop earrings by Brent Neale and Lorraine Schwartz. Blake was attending Barnard College’s gala where she spoke at the event, and before heading out she added a Sergio Hudson neon pink and yellow-lined trench coat over her dress. Clearly a go-to designer for Blake, it was a Sergio Hudson purple mini dress she was wearing in a throwback post she shared on her social media just yesterday. Making sure to tag the designer, Blake also gave a behind-the-scenes look at her getting-ready process on her stories.
Fans were absolutely loving the look and praising the star’s sense of style, with the comments quickly making reference to the Met Gala on Monday. One of the biggest nights in fashion, Blake is considered red carpet royalty at the Met thanks to the stunning outfits she’s worn to the event over the years. Her 2022 Met Gala dress practically caused a Twitter meltdown.
