Emily Ratajkowski “Feels Bad” for Olivia Wilde After *Those* Harry Styles PDA Pics

Dating while human is always complicated, but dating while famous truly sounds like it can be a real nightmare. Emily Ratajkowski went deep on the subject in a new interview with Spanish Vogue, and even went so far as to directly address those viral PDA pics of her and Harry Styles “sloppily making out in Tokyo.”

“I didn’t expect this to happen,” she confessed when she was asked about the pics during her Spanish Vogue interview. “I think, in general, there’s a reason certain celebrities live in [Los Angeles], hire security, don’t go to public restaurants.…So the idea of giving [my freedom] up for the sake of privacy is something I haven’t considered yet.”

EmRata also touched on the speculation that those PDA pics signaled the beginnings of a feud between her and Olivia Wilde (who previously dated Harry and who Emily has been friendly with in the past), comparing the situation to the internet’s reaction to Adam Levine’s cheating scandal, when she says she was “frustrated” because her feeds were overrun with content “focused on slut-shaming a 23-year-old girl.”

“In the case [of my photos with Harry], it’s more of the same,” she added. “I feel bad for Olivia because she has had to suffer this situation on several occasions.”

For her part, Emily has been enjoying single life and dating around since the end of her marriage to Sebastian Bear-McClard. Well, make that trying to enjoy single life, since, as she told Spanish Vogue, “It’s very bizarre to have certain experiences and then have the whole world know about them and comment on them.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve gotten insight into EmRata’s struggles with casually dating as a famous person. In January, she opened up about the subject extensively in an episode of her podcast, High Low, and specifically addressed the role paparazzi play in making her return to dating even more stressful than it would be otherwise.

“It is so hard when you go on a date with somebody—I mean, I’m nervous!” she admitted. “I’m nervous about this person, what they’re gonna think about me, and then I come with this thing of like, ‘There’s gonna be a million pictures of you talking or walking down the street with me,’ and I guess I do have some shame around that.”
