And though we already have pictures and receipts of all of the celebs in attendance (Madonna! Selena! Paris!!), a source close to the singer revealed to E! News yesterday before the nuptials that Britney’s sister Jamie Lynn Spears and their parents, Lynne Spears and Jamie Spears, would be noticeably absent.
A refresher: Jamie Lynn and Brit have been estranged for quite some time. More recently Britney called Jamie Lynn out for making up “crazy lies” to sell “Hollywood books” after her younger sis released her memoir just a few weeks after Britney’s 13-year conservatorship came to an end. So…you could say the no invite eff you gesture *wasn’t* the biggest shock. However, Jamie Lynn took to Insta just three days ago and posted a cryptic message about “moral support,” possibly after finding out about the snub.
“Life Hack: Get yourself a MIL who will travel across the world with you for a work trip just to be your moral support. It takes a village, and I’m thankful for mine,” she wrote.
The E! source also revealed that Britney’s sons with ex Kevin Federline, Sean Preston and Jayden James, would not be present on her wedding day. Kevin’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan confirmed the news when he told TMZ that “Kevin and the boys are pleased for Britney and wish her and Sam all the best going forward” before any accusations of drama could unfold.
The couple’s star-studded wedding comes just weeks after Britney and Sam shared the heartbreaking news that the singer had a miscarriage. Brit took to social media to share the news with fans, writing: “It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy. This is a devastating time for any parent. Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along, however we were overly excited to share the good news. Our love for each other is our strength.”
