The lip readers were truly working overtime during King Charles’s recent coronation, and one expert claims England’s new monarch had some safety concerns while on the Buckingham Palace balcony.
According to professional lip reader Elisabeth Taunton, who spoke to the Mirror, Charles said, “I’m not going to get too close [to the front] so the fire service have to […run in] rescue me.” Queen Camilla then apparently gestured to the royals next to her and said, “Move… move up, go on, come here, move up,” before adding “just drop it” re: her elaborate gown.
Charles and Camilla’s pre-coronation carriage ride convo was also analyzed by a lip reader who did some investigating on behalf of Sky News, and apparently Charles complained, “We can never be on time. Yes, I’m…this is a negative. There’s always something.”
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail spoke to lip-reader Jacqui Press (truly, so many lip readers, so little time) who said Charles was complaining about the carriage ride to Westminster Abbey: “I’m worried about time, I mean, it’s been longer this time and, well, erm, I mean, look! I know.”
Of course, the most explosive coronation lip reading came from Jeremy Freeman, who revealed to the The Sun that Prince Harry told Princess Eugenie’s husband “I’m fed up with the way they treat me.”
Harry also allegedly said “It’s not an ideal situation,” to which Jack Brooksbank replied, “If I can make you feel any better, and even I can do it. It’s not the quiet life, is it?”
