“If you don’t have natural waves, use a small curling tong and twist large sections around, stretching them out while still hot to get the fluffy, elongated waves,” Smith says. For a heat-free option, try scrunching a cream styler into your hair while it’s damp, braiding it into two loose pigtails, and sleeping in them.
