You might think bagging a lead role in “Queen Charlotte” would be cause for popping open the champagne, but Mylchreest celebrated in a more low-key manner. Speaking to Liv Marks, he explained how he was with his girlfriend when he got the call, but as the decision had been made in LA, it was midnight in the UK.
“I was already asleep . . . I didn’t want to wake up her housemate, so I was in like a robe in a corridor and I remember being like ‘look, these things go either way, you can’t, don’t feel sorry for me, don’t pity me, I don’t want any of that, it’s probably not going to work out,'” he said. “And then I came back in and I was like ‘oh my god, I don’t know what the hell just happened. And then I was in shock and she was like ‘you gotta do something to celebrate’ and the only place that was open was the local snooker club. So we went and played snooker.”
