‘Today’ Fans Can’t Believe the Way Hoda Kotb Called Out Jenna Bush Hager on Live TV

When Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb get together on the Today show, a ton of laughs ensue. That said, even the NBC co-hosts can’t help but call each other out when it comes to confusing matters of the heart.

During a recent taping of their popular fourth hour daytime segment, the duo sat down to talk about their go-to methods for flirting. As Hoda opened up how she often holds eye contact “longer than is necessary,” Jenna seemed to be confused about the subject. When the Sisters First author tried to share what she thought was her optimal move, Hoda immediately shut her down for not understanding the innuendo behind a long stare.

“I think like the love language — I do acts of service. Wait, is that what it is?” Jenna said on the show. “No, no! We’re talking about — no. Girl, you got off on some other weird trek. This is about flirting,” Hoda replied before putting her head in her hands.

But Jenna couldn’t let the discussion end there. She quickly tried to explain what she was trying to say, revealing in the process that she thought flirting had to do with one of the five love languages.

“I meant was like, yesterday I went and I helped [husband] Henry [Hager] hang art in his office,” Jenna said on Today. But Hoda didn’t let it go, replying, “That’s not what you’re talking about. OK, I’m going to call Henry.”

Like Hoda, many Today show fans couldn’t get over the hilarity of Jenna misunderstanding the topic. They quickly began commenting about it in the comments on social media.

“Lol Jenna … girl that went right over your head … totally went another angle,” one person wrote on Instagram. “Well that took a turn! 😂😂😂😂,” another laughed. “Dying!! I need @hodakotb and @jennabhager as my [best friends]!” a different user agreed.

Moral of the story: Jenna may need a quick refresher on flirting before the subject comes up again …
